Director 4.0, AptSoft's latest version of its flagship complex event processing solution, increases the product's capabilities and is designed to streamline the design, deployment and maintenance of critical business processes. The upgrade includes a new design center, intended to allow business-level users to implement complex processes without programming. It runs in Windows, Unix and Linux environments and enables linking of event-handling rules into non-linear structures called "event flows." It simultaneously creates automated "interaction policies" that are object oriented, modular and can be updated and reused. New features include: interfaces that require no programming, an object-oriented metadata layer, "on-the-fly" data retrieval and clustering, for high-availability support.
