Transcription/speech recognition

Health Management Technology, May, 2006

ChartScript ASP from SoftMed is a hosted speech recognition and computer-aided medical transcription solution, designed to enable healthcare facilities to offer electronic transcription without incurring the cost to install and maintain the server/computer technology. It features a deferred speech recognition engine driven by the company's SyncStream technology (patent pending), and a natural language processing tool that produces ready-to-edit drafts that are assembled and formatted to a facility's specific standards, for in-house or outsourced transcriptionists. The resulting draft is intended to look and feel like a traditionally transcribed document, and, according to SoftMed, can be accomplished with no change in the physician's preferred dictation procedures.
