Voice-over-IP Technology for Wireless LANS
Combining Voice-over-IP (VolP) and wireless LAN technologies, the NetLink Wireless Telephone System (NetLink WTS), allows mobile workers to make and receive telephone calls over a shared wireless infrastructure. This IEEE 802.11-compliant workplace wireless telephone system delivers outstanding voice quality, has desk-top telephone features and durable handset design. This compliance permits businesses to leverage their new or existing wireless LAN infrastructure by adding high-quality voice communications, allowing enterprises to deploy and manage voice and data over a single wireless backbone. The system consists of two components, the Wireless Telephone, which is a small, lightweight, durable thin-client device, and the Telephony Gateway, which provides an interface between an Ethernet LAN and the host telephone switch using digital and/or analog line interfaces.--SpectraLink Corp.
