Biometric scanner

Health Management Technology, July, 2005

The UltraTouch Desktop Enrollment Station is an all-in-one kiosk that captures multiple biometric and demographic data for large-scale identity management systems. It can combine up to four data sources, including fingerprint, digital photo, electronic signature and a government issued ID card such as a driver's license to establish and manage client identity. Key features of the device include: a digital camera that captures high-quality, color images and adjusts to accommodate enrollment station placement; a card scanner for collecting small format personal identity documentation, such as drivers' licenses, insurance ID cards, immigration cards and Social Security cards; and a digital signature pad that transfers signatures to multiple documents or multiple places in a single document. The device, which measures 9 3/4 inches wide by 12 1/2 inches deep by 11 1/4 inches high, weighs 6 pounds and interfaces to a PC through a single USB connection. Ultra-Scan Corp., Amherst, N.Y.
