Messaging security

Health Management Technology, July, 2005

CipherTrust Inc. has enhanced its IronMail messaging security appliance with the unveiling of Compliance Control, for customers concerned with HIPAA, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Compliance Control is standard in IronMail's v. 5.0 and also is available as a stand-alone IronMail compliance server. It includes content filtering dictionaries specific to each regulation and enhanced regular expression scanning for predefined patterns including credit card numbers, phone numbers and Social Security numbers. User organizations can create customized policies to detect specific expression patterns for a specific type of enterprise. Compliance Control can be figured to: generate automatic approval digests for compliance managers; require preapproval from the compliance officer to release messages that have flagged policy violations within IronMail; and archive messages in question for retention purposes.
