Survey Says - new analysis released by the American College of Health Executives - Industry Trend or Event - Brief Article

Health Management Technology, August, 2001

Survey Says. The annual turnover rate of hospital CEOs has remained relatively stable for the fifth straight year, according to results of a new analysis released by the American College of Health Executives (ACHE). Using American Hospital Association data, ACHE found that about 17 percent of CEOs changed jobs in 2000, about two-thirds of those voluntarily.

Fewer than 8 percent of those who left involuntarily left the healthcare industry; 20 percent of them retired. In 1999, the turnover figure was 18 percent, and in 1998, it was 16.9 percent. www.ache.org
