3M Chargemaster Services is a comprehensive program of consulting services and software to enable hospital finance and billing departments to maintain an accurate, up-to date chargemaster throughout the healthcare facility by assessing chargemaster coding, charging, intent of service and compliance issues. It begins with expert consultants' initial review of the hospital's chargemaster to pinpoint problem areas such as invalid and inadequate CPT/HCPCS codes, mismatched CPT and revenue codes, and charges inappropriately classed under revenue codes. The consultants then conduct an on-site visit, working with an organization's departments to review compliance issues and identify needed changes in coding and billing practices. The consultation includes staff training and education in CPT and APC coding issues, regulatory compliance, and pricing methodology throughout the process.
