DR. SHARON J. WASHINGTON has been appointed provost at Spelman College in Atlanta. She has served in the position as interim provost. Prior to coming to Spelman, Washington was a visiting scholar in the Office of the President at MIT. Washington earned a bachelor's degree from Ohio State University, a master's from Central Michigan University and a doctorate from Ohio State.
