The American Indian College Fund received a $5,000 grant from the ConAgra Foods Foundation, which will assist in providing child nutrition education programs at the nation's tribal colleges.
The College of New Rochelle Graduate School has been awarded $20,000 from the state of New York. The money will be used to expand the school's speech and language pathology lab.
Miami-Dade Community College's School of Computer Information Systems and Design Technology has received a grant for the Unigraphics system valued at $7,624,357. This package of software and hardware will provide state-of-the-art computer integrated manufacturing capability.
Moraine Valley Community College (III.) has been awarded $346,146 from the National Science Foundation. The grant was awarded to Moraine Valley to help defray the cost of updating the existing Mechanical Design and Drafting/CAD program and three corresponding certificates by incorporating 3D Parametric Modeling skills into the curriculum.
Winston-Salem State University's School of Health Sciences (N.C.) has been awarded $650,000 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to help disadvantaged students afford nursing school or other allied health education.
Delaware State University's College of Agriculture and Related Science received a $140,000 grant from the Agriculture Research Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The grant will fund the college's Career Enrichment Program, which will provide internships, scholarships and funds to travel to workshops and conferences.
Virginia Union University received a $100,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation to support the university's literacy program.
