DR. MARY EVANS SIAS has been named president of Kentucky State University. Prior to joining Kentucky State, Sias served as senior rice president for student affairs and external relations at the University of Texas at Dallas. She earned a bachelor's from Tougaloo College and an MBA from Abilene Christian College.
She also earned a master's and a doctorate in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
