DR. THELMA B. THOMPSON has been named the 13th president of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. She is a former vice president for academic affairs at Norfolk State University in Virginia. Thompson earned a bachelor's in English, a master's in English and a doctorate in English literature all from Howard University.
