Black Issues in Higher Education, Sept 2, 1999

In the Professional Appointments section of our July 22, 1999 issue, we mistakenly identified Dr. Carole Henderson Tyson as the director of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Dr. Tyson was the director of the USAID's mission to Jamaica and deputy director of its missions to Senegal and Lesotho.

We also erroneously noted that part of her work with USAID included lecturing at Howard, Harvard, and U.C.-Berkeley, these lecturing stints were outside of her work for the agency.
