BALTIMORE

The Congressional Black Caucus will partner with Fox News Channel to hold two presidential debates this year.

The first debate will be held in Baltimore on Sept. 9 at historically Black Morgan State University, and the second will take place on Oct. 26 in Detroit.

"Debates play an important role in the election process," said Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md. "We want to make sure people have access to the candidates and their positions on critical issues in order to make informed choices when voting."

All nine Democratic presidential candidates have confirmed their participation in both debates. Fox News will nationally air each debate live.

"We are pleased the Congressional Black Caucus has chosen to work with the Fox News Channel," said Roger Ailes, chairman and chief executive officer of Fox News. "Presidential debates play a critical role in our democratic process, and we are delighted to be associated with such a worthwhile endeavor."
