Indiana University's Kelley School of Business has received $1 million from Cisco Systems CEO John Chambers to establish a unique internship program that will provide MBA students with the rare opportunity to work alongside a CEO in all phases of a company's operations.
North Carolina Central University's Department of Health Education has received a $10,000 grant from the American Red Cross National Headquarters and the Central North Carolina Chapter of the American Red Cross to expand African American awareness of the importance of donating blood.
Southern University and A&M College's (La.) urban forestry program has received a $50,000 grant from the Ford Foundation in an effort to head start a national minority-out-reach conference.
The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy has received $595,000 from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health to support graduate education of minority students.
Winston-Salem State University's Maya Angelou Institute for the Improvement of Child and Family Education has received a three-year $462,384 grant from the National Cancer Institute to help reduce the incidence and mortality rate of cancer in minority populations.
