Auburn University (Ala,) received $20,000 from Willie T. Grant, a Birmingham civil engineer, to provide an annual scholarship to minority students majoring in engineering at the university.
California State University-San Bernardino received $10,813 from Louis Lauer, founder of the realty firm in Redlands that bears her name, to create an endowed scholarship for a student who has graduated from a San Bernardino or Redlands high school.
Purdue University received $52,5 million from alumnus and Indianapolis business and civic leader William E. Bindley, including $7.5 million that will cover half the construction cost for a new bioscience research center at Purdue's Discovery Park.
