The University of Houston's College of Education received a grant of $2.6 million awarded by the U.S. Department of Education 2003 Early Childhood Educator Professional Development Program in response to the No Child Left Behind Act. The grant will allow the College of Education to tackle the pervasive problem of educating bilingual, disabled and impoverished young students.
