Black Issues in Higher Education, Jan 27, 2005

Elizabeth City State University (N.C.) received a $400,000 grant from the North Carolina Board of Education to support the opening of seven 21st Century Community Learning Centers. In addition, ECSU received $1,986,995 from the U.S. Department of Education for the Strengthening Historically Black Colleges and Universities (Title III) program.

The program will provide financial assistance to establish or strengthen the physical plants, financial management and academic resources of ECSU.
