ACADEMIC
LARRY T. ELLIS has been named director of University Personnel Services for the University of Florida. He was promoted from his previous position as director of the division of small business and vendor diversity relations. Ellis earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in education from Florida A&M University. He has also completed a specialist in education degree at Florida State University.
DR. DOLAN HUBBARD has been appointed chairperson of the Department of English and Language Arts at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Md. Previously, he was an associate professor of English and African American Studies at the University of Georgia. Hubbard earned a bachelor's degree in English from Catawba College in North Carolina, a master's degree in English from the University of Denver and a doctorate in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

SHAUN M. LEWIS is the new associate vice-chancellor for facilities at the University of New Orleans. Previously, he was director of facility planning and management at Xavier University. Lewis earned a bachelor's degree in architecture from Southern University in Baton Rouge, La.
DR. BENNIE GERALD MCMORRIS JR. has been appointed as the new dean of students at Hampton University. He came to Hampton from Pratt Institute where he directed the school's higher education opportunity program. DR. JOSE A. PICART is the new director of psychology programs at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Prior to this appointment, he was director of general psychology in the department of behavioral sciences and leadership. Picart earned a bachelor's degree in humanities from the United States Military Academy at West Point, a master's degree in management from Webster University and a master's degree in experimental psychology and a doctorate in cognitive psychology, both from the University of Oklahoma.
DR. RODNEY SMITH has been named vice president for administrative services at Hampton University. He will assume his new responsibilities while retaining his duties as vice president for student affairs. Smith earned a bachelor's degree psychology from St. John's University, a master's degree clinical psychology from Fisk University and a doctoral degree administration planning and social policy from Harvard University.
ASSOCIATION
MARC K. MALONE has been named president of the Mid-America Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel. The association assists low-income and first generation students in overcoming economic, physical, academic or social barriers to higher education accessibility. Malone earned a bachelor's from Morehouse College and a master's in educational administration from Purdue University.
DR. CHARLES WILLIAMS has been elected president of the National Association of College, Deans, Registrars and Admissions Officers. He is currently associate vice chancellor for academic affairs at North Carolina A&T State University. Williams earned a bachelor's and a master's in history education and counselor education, respectively, from North Carolina A&T State University and a doctorate in counselor education from Iowa State University.
