DR. EARLENE ARMSTRONG, a professor of entomology at the University of Maryland College Park, has been selected by President Bush as one of 10 national recipients of the 2001 Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring. Armstrong earned bachelor's and master's from North Carolina Central University and a doctorate from Cornell University.
