Black Issues in Higher Education, March 25, 2004
Empire State College (N.Y.) received the largest gift in its history from one of its alumni. The Susan and John Turben Family Foundation has pledged $1 million in unrestricted funds for the college's programs and initiatives. Dr. Susan H. Turben, president of Turben Developmental Services in Willoughby Hills, Ohio, was among the first three graduates of Empire State College.
Empire State College provides programs to adult learners.
