Oprah to Teach Business Course at Northwestern

Black Issues in Higher Education, June 10, 1999

CHICAGO -- Daytime talk show host Oprah Winfrey has agreed to teach a business course at Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Winfrey will team up with longtime beau Stedman Graham this fall to teach "The Dynamics of Leadership" one night a week for 10 weeks, says Rich Honack, assistant dean and director of marketing and communications for the business school. Graham has taught a sports marketing course at the school for two years.

"We're very pleased," Honack says. "She is one of the most dynamic women in the world and the students are very excited about it."

One hundred second-year graduate students will be admitted to the fully accredited course in management and strategy.
