The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded the Yale Combustion Group of Yale's Department of Engineering a $2.4 million grant to help develop light-weight, readily rechargeable micro-combustion batteries for the soldier of the future. In addition, Yale's School of Forestry & Environmental Studies has received a $200,000 grant for student scholarships from the Evan Frankel Foundation.
