> The Department of Energy (DOE) awarded seven grants to seven institutions for energy research ranging from $20,000 to 8200,000 through the Historically Black Colleges and other Minority Institutions program. The selected universities include Hampton University (Va.), Tuskegee University (Ala.), Morehouse College (Ga.), Florida International University, Prairie View A&M University (Texas), California State University and the University of Texas.
