Oracle Corp has formed a new partnership with Ernst & Young to offer customers a joint product and service offering by combining Ernst & Young's Strategic Sourcing services and Oracle's Internet Procurement solution. Under the new arrangement customers will be able to learn about Oracle's solution and learn to model their procurement processes on the system. In other news, Oracle has announced plans for Oracle Exchange, a new open business-to-business online marketplace. Oracle Exchange will enable companies to purchase business goods and services using any purchasing technique as it will not require Oracle software, plus it will be able to support spot buying and reverse auctioning. Oracle Exchange should be available by the end of 1999.
