Compaq Computer Australia and Telstra have joined forces to provide Australia`s troops in East Timor with access to the Internet over the Christmas period.
Under the scheme, Telstra will provide Internet access to the soldiers through a satellite link from Dili in East Timor and site links to its recently launched telstra.com online information centre. The two companies are also encouraging ordinary Australians to send messages of support from 21 - 28 December via Compaq`s web site or via a link to Compaq at Telstra`s web site.
