Involving 108 supplier companies, the auction was conducted on GM's new TradeXchange web site. In addition, GM buyers have now begun purchasing on the web site through its catalogue function.

The exchange, which is powered by Commerce One, will provide participants with a third way to conduct transactions - an online bid-quote process - in 1Q'2000.
