Microsoft Corp has released a special edition of Microsoft Word 98 designed specifically for the iMac and iBook computers developed by Apple.
A new Mac version of Outlook Express - version 5.0, has also been launched. Word 98 Special Edition features Word 98 Macintosh Edition, Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.5 and Microsoft Outlook Express 4.5 and will be available from 26 August, priced at US$99 after a US$30 rebate.
Microsoft Outlook Express 5.0 will be available for free download in Autumn at http://www.microsoft.com/mac/.

Microsoft has also released the IntelliMouse Explorer, a new mouse interoperable with both Macintosh and PC computers that is based on the IntelliEye optical tracking technology. The IntelliMouse Explorer will be available in October for an estimated retail price of US$74.95.
