Telstra Launches Online Travel Service

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-(C) 1994-9 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD Australian telecommunications provider Telstra has launched an online travel business, complete with consultants. The new venture, operated through its Big Pond Internet service web site at http://www.travel.bigpond.com provides information about airlines, hotels, car rental companies and package tours and allows visitors to book these services as well as apply for financing.

The site also contains currency exchange rate information, world weather updates and maps provided by the Australian travel information firm Lonely Planet.
