-Informix Internet Foundation.2000 now supports XML

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-(C) 1994-9 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD Informix Software has added support for eXtensible Markup Language (XML) to its Internet Foundation.2000 database system. With XML, which is the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C's) standard for universal data exchange, customers using Internet Foundation will be able to integrate existing data with their new e-commerce applications and exchange data with their clients, partners and suppliers.

XML-support is immediately available with the newest version of Informix's Web DataBlade module. In 1Q'2000 the company also plans to deliver other XML-enabled products, including a server-based workflow engine and an XML metadata repository. In related news, Informix has joined the W3C and the Organisation for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS), a consortium that aims to accelerate the adoption of product-independent formats based on standards such as XML.
