The UK-based insurance company Direct Line is to introduce a fast-decision online personal loan service.

From Monday 14 August customers can apply for a loan of up to GBP25,000 through http://www.directline.com and receive approval within 10 minutes.

According to Direct Line, the provision of online loans is one of the fastest-growing markets in the personal finance sector. The company has predicted that the online loan market will experience at least a seven-fold growth in the number of borrowers over the next five years.

The figure is based on the growth of 143% seen in the over-the-phone loan market in the last five years.
