Phone.com's UP.Link server software has been licensed by AirTouch Cellular for use in its US CDMA network.
The server software will enable AirTouch Cellular, which is part of Vodafone AirTouch Plc, to provide a mobile web service to customers with Internet-capable CDMA handsets. The service, to be made available in AirTouch Cellular's US markets in 2Q'2000, will allow customers to gain access to e-mail, sports, news, financial and e-commerce services from their digital phone.
