Nortel Networks says it has successfully completed a set of end-to-end wireless Internet calls over a complete GPRS system provided in 1999 to French GSM operator Bouygues Telecom for test purposes.

The calls were made using prototype GPRS handsets from Mitsubishi and Nortel's GPRS core and radio network that is fully compliant with open interface standards.
