TELECOMWORLDWIRE-23 August 2001-Argus offers security for Linux distributions (C)1994-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com
US-based Argus Systems Group Inc has enhanced its PitBull LX security software with an ability to lock down all popular distributions of the Linux operating system and the 2.4 Linux kernel.
The new feature is designed to provide security for the Red Hat 6.2/7.0/7.1, SuSE 7.1/7.2, Linux Mandrake 7.2/8.0, Debian GNU/Linux 2.2 and TurboLinux 6.5 Linux distributions against malicious attacks and Code Red-type threats. The software also now supports custom installations of the 2.4 and earlier Linux kernels.

According to Argus, PitBull LX works by turning security inside-out, locking down the operating system and containing the software bugs and security flaws that could otherwise have granted an attacker system-wide access, harmlessly within a single security compartment.
Available immediately, PitBull LX for Linux distributions and the 2.4 kernel is priced from USD5,000 for single processor servers.
