TELECOMWORLDWIRE-24 January 2001-Girl told to surrender Harry Potter domain name (C)1994-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

A Singaporean girl has said that she will not give up the rights to her Internet site dedicated to Harry Potter books.

Christie Chan, aged 15, has been asked by Time Warner Entertainment and the books' author J.K. Rowling to surrender the website's name harrypotternetwork.net because the name 'Harry Potter' was their intellectual property, reported The Associated Press.

Chan said that Time Warner had not threatened to take her to court as she had complied with most of their requests, which include the removal of images from the website or credit them to Time Warner.
