Infinite Data Storage (IDS), a developer of removable storage and writable CD products, has signed a worldwide licensing agreement with the software giant Microsoft Corp.
As part of the agreement IDS will incorporate Microsoft's Windows Media Audio (WMA) technology into Samba, its recordable CD (CD-R) device. Microsoft's WMA 8 compression technology will enable Samba's customers to store almost six hours of CD-quality music on their CD-Rs, doubling Samba's storage capacity.
