CLEAR Communications, a telecomms operator and ISP in New Zealand, has deployed California-based Juniper Networks Inc's Internet backbone routers.

The routers have been used to upgrade CLEAR`s national IP core and international transit core network from New Zealand to the US. The platform enables the operator to offer new smart IP services, such as premium accessibility and value-added applications to end-users including virtual private networks, voice over IP and video on demand.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The installation is the first combined backbone and international transit router network from Juniper in New Zealand.
