TELECOMWORLDWIRE-14 May 2001-Northern Rock awards GBP23m IT infrastructure contract to ICL (C)1994-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

The London-based e-business services provider ICL has won a five-year, GBP23m contract to deliver a new IT infrastructure to Northern Rock, a UK financial institution.

The IT infrastructure will support Northern Rock's business streams such as savings, mortgages and personal loans. Plus, if usage exceeds the planned demand, Northern Rock will be able to take advantage of additional capacity form ICL on a metered basis.

The agreement extends a long-time partnership between the companies - Northern Rock has utilised ICL's datacentre server technology for over 30 years for its key administrative systems.
