US-based I-Bus/Phoenix Inc has launched a new line of rackmount uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems for the protection of servers and software.

The line is designed to safeguard against blackouts, voltage fluctuations and electrical noise, making it suitable for use in network infrastructure, telecomms, computer telephony, broadcasting and medical systems, I-Bus/Phoenix says.

Features include microprocessor-controlled battery discharge/recharge to extend battery life and provide early warning of battery failure and special power management software that allows users to track real-time power status, print power event logs and set up e-mail and network messaging.

All the UPS systems support Windows 95/98/Me/NT. Availability and pricing were not revealed.
