California-based Juniper Networks has won a contract to deliver its Internet routers to XO Communications, a US broadband communications services provider.

XO will deploy Juniper's M160 Internet backbone routers and M40 Internet access routers in its new nationwide OC-192 backbone network to provide network throughput speed and routing intelligence. The network will be used by XO to offer inter-city Internet and integrated voice and data services to business customers across 63 US cities.

The value of the contract was not disclosed.
