Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia said today (2 December) that it had signed a contract with Spanish telecomms operator Telefonica Moviles to become a supplier for its subsidiary Telefonica Movil's GSM radio-access network in Chile.

Nokia said that under the agreement it would deploy a nationwide radio network, including base stations and base station controllers, and the operator's principal GPRS network.

Nokia would also provide installation and project management and professional support services, including training, emergency service and software maintenance, Nokia said.

No financial information was provided.
