Microsoft Corp has announced the immediate availability of its MSN Messenger 2.1 instant messaging product for Macintosh.
The update is available for download from the web site http://www.microsoft.com/mac/ for free. Previously, version 2.1 was available only with Office v. X for the Mac.
According to a Microsoft spokesperson the updated version provides new emoticons and improvements to performance and stability.
