Marketing consultancy Frost & Sullivan has conducted a study that examines mobile commerce and issues predictions for the future of the market.

The company has predicted that m-commerce will become more widespread within the next few years, leading to USD25bn generated through mobile payments in 2006 - about 15% of total e-commerce consumer spending.

Mobile commerce will comprise of automated payments at vending machines, parking meters, ticket machines, shop counters or taxis as well as mobile Internet payments and transactions between individuals.
