Wristwatch PDAs available soon from Fossil - licensing agreement with PalmSource Inc - Brief Article

A licensing agreement has been formed between watch design company Fossil Inc and PalmSource Inc, a handheld and smart phone operating system provider.

Under the terms of the agreement Fossil has licensed the Palm operating system for use in its watch-style WRIST PDA wearable device. The PDA watch can be used to access information and run Palm OS applications.

The WRIST PDA features an illuminated touch screen with stylus, 2MB internal memory, infrared port, rechargeable battery and a number of applications including an address book, date book, memo pad, calculator and to do list.

The device is expected to be made available under two brand names - Fossil and ABACUS - by mid-2003. To date, no pricing information has been revealed.
