Music company EMI has announced its plans to make 140,000 tracks from its catalogue of performers available to download online.
The company reportedly also intends to make downloads available when new tracks start to be played on the radio which means they will be available online before they are sold in traditional shops.
Artists that will be made available for download include Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Norah Jones, Dean Martin, Sir Cliff Richard, Pink Floyd and Frank Sinatra.
