Product lifecycle management software provider Dassault Systemes and IBM have been awarded a product lifecycle management contract from Ford Motor Company.
IBM and Dassault will now work at enhancing Ford's design and manufacturing processes through the addition of product lifecycle management solutions such as CATIA 5 and ENOVIAVPM. Both companies will also supply process and methodology consultation.

This will reportedly provide Ford with a method of responding to customer demand through a shorter development cycle and increased flexibility.
The financial terms of the agreement were not revealed.
