Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB, jointly owned by Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson and Japanese consumer electronics company Sony Corporation, said on Wednesday (3 September) that it had signed an agreement with US entertainment company Turner Broadcasting to offer games, wallpapers and ring tones using Cartoon Network characters to Sony Ericsson phone users around the world.

Sony Ericsson mobile phone users in all markets could easily access and download the items to their mobile phones from Sony Ericsson's web site, according to the company.

Initially the characters would include Tom and Jerry, The Flintstones and The Powerpuff Girls.

Sony Ericsson said that the offered items would be developed by Macrospace Ltd.
