Microsoft has announced its intention to launch an upgrade for its Windows XP operating system that is aimed at making the application more secure.
The Service Pack 2 update will close several loopholes that can be taken advantage of by hackers or virus writers and includes a number of features that block pop-ups and give users a view of their system's security.
The update is expected to be completed and available for download by the end of June 2004.
