Finnish state to sell shares in TeliaSonera AB

The Finnish government announced on Wednesday (8 December) that it would offer 250 million of its shares in the Finnish-Swedish telecomms operator TeliaSonera AB.

The offering would be marketed through an accelerated book built offering to international and Nordic institutional investors. The offering may be increased to a maximum of up to 300 million shares subject to market conditions.

The 250 million shares represent some 5.3% and the 300 million shares some 6.4% of the total outstanding shares of TeliaSonera.

After the sale the ownership interest of the Finnish state would be not less than some 12.7%.

Based on the share price on Tuesday (7 December) the sale is worth EUR1.15bn, reported the Finnish news agency STT.
