Digital satellite television company BSkyB has signed a new three-year IP-VPN quality of service (QoS) deal with UK-based telecomms company Cable & Wireless (C&W).
The contract will see C&W consolidate BSkyB's separate wide area networks into a single high-speed IP-VPN with QoS, across multiple sites in the UK and Ireland.

A spokesperson for BSkyB said that it decided to work with C&W as it offered a combination of high quality infrastructure and international reach, and it has met a challenging schedule ahead of the new network's launch in the summer of 2005. No financial details concerning the new contract were released.
