Siemens to acquire Myrio Corp

German telecomms technology company, Siemens, has said that it has agreed to purchase the US-based software manufacturer, Myrio Corp.

Siemens said that the acquisition will enable it to extend its home entertainment technology ranges. Myrio Corp, which is privately held, makes software that allows video to be broadcast on the Internet via broadband cable.

The cost of the acquisition was not given, but is thought to have been around the EUR50m range, reports AFX.
